ABOUT:
Monkeyfab, founded in 2012 by brothers Piotr and Pawel Twardo, was involved in the development of 3D printing technology in Poland from the very beginning, particularly within the RepRap community. The Monkeyfab PRIME printer (sometimes called Prime3D) was designed as a device that stood out for its precision and build quality, earning recognition both domestically and internationally. The historical context is important, as the brand built its reputation through pioneering efforts at a time when 3D printing in Poland was still in its infancy.
The Prime was one of the first 3D printers derived from the RepRap lineage, where all components were made of metal or acrylic. Its rigid construction and high durability ensured a long lifespan. There were two generations: black (2014-2015) and white (2015-2018), differing in nuances in the construction of the build plate and extruder.
In later years, Monkeyfab developed the Spire 3D printer, which was based on delta kinematics and intended as the successor to the Prime. However, the company ultimately shifted its focus entirely, and since the late 2010s, it has specialized in large-format 3D printing services, which it continues to successfully provide today.
