ABOUT:
B9 Creator was a 3D printer based on DLP technology, introduced in 2012 by the American company B9Creations. It was one of the first low-cost SLA/DLP 3D printers available to professionals and hobbyists, offering an alternative to significantly more expensive industrial systems. The project gained immense popularity through a Kickstarter campaign, where the company raised funds for its production.
The Kickstarter campaign was a great success—the project raised nearly $513,000, far exceeding its original goal of just $50,000. This allowed B9Creations to begin production and fulfill orders for its backers.
B9 Creator used a DLP projector to cure layers of photopolymer resin with UV light. This technology enabled extremely high precision and detail in prints, comparable to stereolithography systems but at a much lower cost.
Over time, improved versions such as B9 Creator v1.1 and v1.2 were introduced, featuring enhancements like a higher-resolution 1080p projector and a deeper resin vat. In 2017, the company discontinued the B9 Creator, replacing it with more advanced models from the B9 Core series, which featured faster printing processes and more sophisticated components.
