Overview

Ascent Fabrication is a provider of industrial large format FDM/FFF 3D printers, materials, training and troubleshooting support, as well as printing as a service. We focus on building highly educational relationships with our customers to assist in raising the level of knowledge regarding DfAM techniques. We began in the prosthetics and orthotics industry in 2021, and in May 2024 that sector of the business was sold to PROTEOR – the third largest prosthetic manufacturing company globally. Our founder, Joe Fairley, Certified Prosthetist, is now assisting them build their 3D printing as a service portfolio as well as in house 3D printer offerings for P&O clinics through the acquisition of Filament Innovations, which Joe was instrumental in making happen.

Ascent Fab is now focused outside the P&O field for any industry. We are growing and eager to connect with companies who are looking to build their in-house 3D printing capabilities, or with those who would rather have us print for them in our industrial large format 3D print farm.

Legacy

Joe Fairley has bootstrapped the company and had less than a handful of employees since Ascent Fab’s existence, however he has done a lot with a little. Ascent Fab is now catering to some of the largest companies worldwide in aerospace, consumer goods, art, and more. Joe has been 3D printing since 2015 and has always taken an instructional approach to working with his customers. His expertise in the prosthetics and orthotics industry has led him to a position with PROTEOR where he is traveling worldwide to implement AM within clinics providing P&O care.

With the new focus on large format industrial FDM/FFF printing, Ascent Fab’s new tagline is: Print BIG or go home! We assist companies in product development, CAD, and batch production of large parts.
